Catalyst 2940 series switches are smaller, independent,
managed switches with 8 fast ethernet ports and one
integrated fast ethernet or gigabit ethernet uplink
port. These switches are constructed to be utilized
outside the wiring closet in the end-user's workspace,
and display a resilient metal shelf, no fan tray for
noiseless environments, easy wall or desk-mountable,
a secure lock slot to stop theft from occurring, and
an accessible cable guard to secure the ethernet cables
to the cisco switch.

most likely need low port density and price with high-performance
10/100 Mbps connection, smaller size unit with quieter
performance, fiber on 10/100/1000BaseT uplink port,

gives easy switch deployment for novice users to install,
and QoS (Quality of Service) and security based on
Layer 2 data.
