ATM

DEFINITION:

The initials, ATM , stand for
Asynchronous T ransfer M ode. It is a high-speed circuit and packet switching network standard with a bandwidth from 25 Mbps to 622 Mbps which supports voice, video, and digital data signals over a single stream. An ATM is a connection oriented full duplex communication network. ATM packets can be transmitted intermittently on fixed paths.
